Steve Gaines

Steve Gaines (1949-1977) was an American musician and songwriter, best known as a guitarist and vocalist for the Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd. He joined the band in 1976, contributing significantly to their sound and songwriting. Gaines was instrumental in the creation of the band’s fifth studio album, "Street Survivors," which was released shortly before the tragic plane crash that claimed the lives of several band members, including Gaines himself. His contributions to Lynyrd Skynyrd included notable tracks such as "That Smell," "You Got That Right," and "One More Time," showcasing his virtuosic guitar work and distinctive vocal style.
